John Deaton, an attorney and XRP supporter, is now describing when he believes the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission’s lawsuit against Ripple (SEC) will reach its long-awaited conclusion.
Deaton was asked if he believes summary judgment will occur by March 31st on a new episode.
Belo the Answer from the attorney:
“I don’t see it happening before March 31, but it is possible because the judge is very aware. We were granted amici status by her. She is aware that there are many holders and 17 amicus briefs have been filed in this case. It’s possible. However, there are millions of documents that have been filed. She will read it. It should be done by the end of March. I am afraid it could take until April or May to make a decision.”
Deaton was active in the ongoing lawsuit and filed an amicus brief for XRP supporters opposing the regulator’s motion for summary judgment.
In late 2020, the SEC sued Ripple for allegedly selling XRP as unregistered securities.
Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder, recently stated that he heard rumors that the case would be resolved by Thursday, December 15th.
