Nexo, a prominent platform in the cryptocurrency wealth management sector, has announced the continuation of its title sponsorship for the DP World Tour’s Nexo Championship, a renowned professional golf event previously referred to as the Scottish Championship. This tournament is set to take place at the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, from August 20 to 23. This year marks the second consecutive occasion that Nexo has taken on the role of title sponsor, with the prize pool now elevated to an impressive $3 million.
### Nexo’s Commitment to Golf
Konstantin Rangelov, the Manager of Brand Marketing and Global Sponsorships at Nexo, expressed that the Nexo Championship holds significant sentimental value for the company, as it represents their inaugural title partnership. He emphasized that a three-year agreement with the DP World Tour significantly influenced their choice to renew the sponsorship, allowing them to deepen their involvement in the event.
### Enhanced Visibility at the Event
Rangelov explained that Nexo will have a substantial presence throughout the multi-day event, with branding prominently displayed on tee boxes, leaderboards, and other strategic broadcast positions. He highlighted that the DP World Tour team prioritizes the title partner’s visibility, creating an opportunity for enhanced engagement and exposure.
### Diverse Sports Sponsorship Portfolio
Nexo’s sponsorship initiatives extend beyond golf, as the firm has partnered with various sports teams and leagues. Notably, it serves as the official cryptocurrency partner for the Australian Open tennis tournament, Argentina’s national football team, and the Audi Revolut Formula 1 team. Rangelov noted that golf holds a unique position within their sponsorship portfolio, citing the sport’s emphasis on precision and long-term planning, as well as its financially engaged global audience, which aligns with Nexo’s target demographics.
### Measuring Sponsorship Success
The company plans to implement a hospitality program during the event and will track various metrics such as earned media, social impressions, and broadcast exposure to assess the effectiveness of its title sponsorship. Nexo has faced challenges in the past, specifically having to discontinue its U.S. products and services due to regulatory hurdles in California in 2022. However, earlier this year, the firm announced plans to collaborate with Bakkt, a digital asset trading infrastructure provider, in an effort to reestablish its presence in the U.S. market.
