Bola Tanubu is the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said that his administration would promote the use of cryptocurrency assets and blockchain technology in finance if elected to office.

Blockchain technology allows for transparent information sharing in a network.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in 2021, directed all banks in Nigeria not to open accounts with individuals or entities that were involved in cryptocurrency transactions.

Godwin Emefiele (CBN governor) explained the decision. He said that it was in the citizens’ best interests.

Tinubu addressed youths in Abuja at a town hall meeting. He stated that his administration would adopt policies that would allow them to benefit from ICT.

He said, “I promise a thriving economy where those who are interested in ICT careers of integrity will be able to do so.”

“We will also make sure that Nigeria takes advantage of more recent innovations like blockchain technology.

“I will invest in infrastructure to support an already successful entertainment industry. We will work with private sector partners to bridge the gaps and build media centers, as well as upgrade existing entertainment venues to international standards.

“My administration will reform education by focusing on quality, access, funding management effectiveness, and competition.

“I swear, I will provide quality education that is in line with 21st century demands.”

Tinubu stated that youths would be the driving force behind economic prosperity under his administration.

You will be empowered to achieve individual and collective success. Opportunities will exist for everyone, and they will also be available to you. He said, “Let’s all go together.”
